It comes from the Sabaragamuwa province, near Ratnapura – a region known for its mineral-rich soil and warm, humid climate. The leaves are fine, pine-needle-shaped, with many silvery tips, giving the tea a refined appearance and added aromatic complexity.

In flavour, expect distinct maltiness, gentle spicy notes and subtle hints of fruit. It carries a character reminiscent of a mild, malty Assam, yet maintains the clarity and brightness typical of high-quality Ceylon teas. The cup brews into a deep red liquor with a malty, spicy, and pleasantly clean bouquet.
