• FUJITA TOKUTA TOKONAME KYUSU TEAPOT

This exceptional Japanese teapot, a testament to the mastery of Fujita Tokuta, features an elegant egg-shaped profile and a unique, shimmering metallic finish accented by natural Yohen (kiln-fired color transitions). Crafted from the famous Tokoname clay, this piece beautifully marries contemporary aesthetics with time-honored ceramic techniques.

  • This is a high-grade Kyusu style teapot meticulously crafted by the award-winning ceramic artist Fujita Tokuta (藤田徳太), born in 1975. This specific design showcases a captivating blend of form and material innovation. The rounded, prominent body provides an ideal volume and shape for optimal water movement, allowing the full character and aroma of various tea leaves to be fully expressed. The exterior is treated with a unique, kiln-derived dark metallic finish, highlighted by vibrant and irregular Yohen effects — spontaneous color variations achieved through precise firing conditions. It is equipped with the traditional side handle (yokode), which ensures superior leverage and stability during the pour, while the built-in ceramic strainer guarantees a clear, leaf-free infusion. As a distinguished piece of Tokoname ware, this teapot is a superb example of functional artistry and craftsmanship.
