Water kefir kit
Water kefir is a raw drink of natural fermentation, which, like milk kefir, is made with the help of so-called "kefir grains". These grains are a symbiosis of several species of bacteria and yeast that, during fermentation, turn water with sugar into a healthy and delicious probiotic drink. The Water kefir kit will allow you to make the highest quality probiotic drink at home.Benefits of water kefir:
It is believed that this probiotic drink has antibacterial properties, can strengthen the immune system, and enrich the intestinal microflora. Water kefir can replace carbonated and high-calorie drinks with its taste. It is also suitable for vegetarians and vegans, as no animal milk is used in its production.
Making water kefir:
Four tablespoons of kefir grains.
Three spoons of sugar (without overmeasure).
10 pcs. raisins (optional).
Three liters of cold water.
Pour all this into a liter jar, and keep for 2-4 days at a temperature of 20-28 degrees. Strain the settled grains through cheesecloth into a clean jar. Rinse the drained grains with running water and take four tablespoons for a new infusion. Grains can grow, so their amount increases.
As the kefir grains grow, you can increase the amount of liquid or store the increase in the refrigerator, but no longer than 5 days.To diversify the taste of the water kefir, it is possible to carry out a second fermentation, which we have described in more detail in the growing instructions that we include in the kit.
It is recommended to drink water kefir regularly in 100-200 ml. 10 minutes before eating.
Important Information:
- After purchasing this kit, we recommend starting the fermentation as soon as possible to achieve the best results.
- Although the water kefir grains remain viable in the pouch for up to 2 weeks, the fresher they are, the smoother the fermentation process will be.
- Before fermentation, store the water kefir grains at room temperature – do not refrigerate.
- Once fermented, store the water kefir in the refrigerator and avoid warm environments. Water kefir carbonates faster than kombucha, so we recommend monitoring the secondary fermentation more closely than you would when fermenting kombucha.
